About Us
Whether you’re looking to give your old wood floor a facelift, or plan to add a new wood floor to your home, Benchmark Hardwood Flooring, Inc. is the preferred choice in the Kansas City area. We have been in business since 1995. Ninety percent of our business is from referrals or repeat customers. Unlike larger floor companies, that sell jobs and then sub contract work, we do every aspect of your job “in house.” The owner. Todd Henke, personally meets with you and is on every job at some point to ensure customer satisfaction.
BHFI is experienced in all aspects of wood floors and can help you in deciding what product is best suited for your project, lifestyle and budget. We work with some of Kansas City’s top interior designers, remodelers, home builders, and restoration companies on a regular basis and are seasoned in design elements of wood floors. We continually update our education in the ever changing wood floor industry so we may better serve our customers and maintain the excellent standards we have set as our benchmark.
Hardwood floors are not only a design choice, it is also an environmental choice. The average life of a wood floor is about 100 years – and then it is completely biodegradable. Wood floors are a renewable resource and can also help improve the air quality of your home because they don’t trap dust, pollen, allergens or odor. Since our company’s inception, we have been invested in protecting our earth, customers, and employees by using non-toxic, environmentally safe finishing products.

Todd Henke, the owner, has always enjoyed the craftsmanship of working with wood. Whether building a piece of furniture for his wife, a tree house for his kids, or installing hardwood floors, he enjoys the creative process and admires the end results. Todd enjoys all spectator sports, especially Chief’s football. He is involved in various youth sports and helps coach his son’s baseball team. He resides in Shawnee, Kansas with his wife, Nancy, son & daughter.
